The three "R's"

Reduce the use of resources whenever possible. Do you really need the latest and greatest, or will the old product still get the job done?

Can you reuse something that you thought has been depleted? Instead of throwing that empty jar away, they can make great storage containers instead.

When items cannot be reused, they can still serve a purpose by being turned into something useful again.

When items become broken, repair rather than replace when feasible. Other ways to reduce is to look for products with less packaging. Purchase frequently used items in bulk packaging when possible.

Buy used products rather than new. Great sources of used products are flea markets, garage sales, thrift stores, and consignment shops. Another simple idea is to use reusable shopping bags.

When making purchasing decisions, look for products that can be recycled easily. Typically this includes paper, plastic, glass, and aluminum. Also, try to purchase products that have been manufactured with recycled materials,
